Dance Revised

Jackson Dance 1 29 from Ariel Jackson on Vimeo.

We were tasked with revising our dance projects and character design to fix some of the major mistakes. I went and revised the color scheme of my character's shirt and belt and fixed some of the line work. I also changed the music choice that my character dances to too in hopes of giving her more rhythm to dance too.

Dance

Assignment right up

In this assignment we were tasked with designing a dance and making our character move in after effects. When designing my dance I had some problems because I was asking aftereffects to do to much however when I simplified some of my actions the program worked with me.

Finial Design character

Assignment Write- Up
Doing revises on my character for dynamic imaging I decided to take the advance giving to me by class mates. I made her cloths more rough an torn up also looked at more medieval style clothing for Romani nomads or gypsy during that time. I went and did more research on the world my character will be in and did more design choices on her hair deciding to make low maintenance.

Working with basics from aftereffects to make my character move

hair,cloths, and color designs/sketches

\Since people said that she needed more of a weapon design I decided to create one that goes with her and the story. Deciding on more of a makeshift weapon made out of a large stick and piece of a horn attached with a scarf the same color as her pants. she fights with it like a staff. Also has a knife for cutting plants and herbs that she finds on her journey.

I started with this color scheme with my character decided against it. I feel I needed more lighter colors for Dedra since she is more nerdy and nomadic

Some color schemes

I chose this color scheme instead with my character.

Character Research "Revise"

I looked at more characters some suggested to me I looked a samurai jack, Esmeralda, Norgaimi.

Some Artist
Esmeralda - Jean Gillmore

She fits the gypsy/nomadic feel i was going for with my character. Looking in to longer hair or pin up styles of hair during the medieval times. The gracefulness of her clothing is important for it allows for freedom of movement.

Samurai Jack - Dexter Smith
http://dexter-smith.blogspot.com/

Samurai Jack was a nomadic character with one goal in mind to defeat the evil that spread about his homeland. Look into giving my character a more purposeful goal that fits within her world. Also pay attention to the use of line in his clothing and weapon design.

Ps.
I don't own any of these characters or pictures they came from Living Lines Library

Character research "Revise"

I decide to look into the Medieval times along with Romani gypsies or nomadic Romani people lifestyles to give more to my character background through her clothing.

The look into how the Romani people where treated during the medieval times also how they dressed back then. The Romani people were always treated as a minority because they are usually apart of another culture. They are a dependent nation or culture.

Who are the Romani People

Looking at their connection with the English for my story since my main character family name comes from the house of Lancaster. Lancaster a royal family house

Character Backstory Revise

Backstory
Dedra was born of noble rank from the high court with in the middle kingdom for which her noble title was Divine Dedra Lancaster. She came from the highest of the people who lived in the middle kingdom even though she was a noble she didn't agree with the treatment of the native people who were as she was told under her in rank. She was always interested in the common people's culture. However she was told to never associate with the people directly and by herself having being at a young age of ten at the time.
However Dedra loved the culture of the common people along with their music she would often go out at night to visit the town in which they would host small festivals with folk music. However one night when she visited the town their were criminals about having no knowledge of this she head right into danger and she was kidnapped. The criminals sent ransom demands to her parents the duke and duchess who refused to deal with them and abandon their daughter. Therefore the criminals decided to throw the girl to the mist.
Where by the stroke of luck she was found  by some tribesman who took her in as one of their own. They taught her how to survive in the wilds and about the dangers of the mist. There was one law within the tribe which was to stay away from it. The mist was the protection given to the middle kingdom by the horn god it would drive anyone insane if they remain in it to long, and it was hard if not impossible to navigate.
Four years later the girl has grown up in the wilds learning about the culture of the tribesman and becoming a excellent healer and decent fighter. However the fight with in her to know the truth about why her family abandon her made her ambitious to renter the middle kingdom even if it meant renting the mist.  So one night when the carven was its closest to the mist that hid the middle kingdom she went out and tried her best to get through it only to get lost.
The mist started to seep into her mind and she started to go insane. Just when she was on the brink of losing it she heard someone crying for help. She followed the voice and stumbles on creature that appeared almost human. He was trapped in what appeared to be a bear trap.  She ends up saving the boy who as it turns out was a disciple of the Horn god. The horn god appeared to her and gave a piece of his horn exchange for her reusing his disciple and showed her the way out of the mist. He told her that his gate was the only way to renter the middle kingdom and just like that he vanished. Knowing she could no longer go back to her tribe for have disobeyed the law she went out on her journey to find the Horn god's gateway.

Her Goal
She wishes to learned of a way to renter the middle kingdom that doesn't involve going through the mist and has set out on a quest to find the Horn gods gate way.

Meet Dedra
-- A Fun loving person who loves to travel around however she does become serious when it comes to medical work. She loves to solve mysteries if they will lead her to the truth behind her family which is the one ambition that follows her around like a dark cloud. However she stills hates to see injustice done to others which is the reason she wanted to become a healer begging the masters in the tribe to teach her. She has weakness for soft fabric and mushrooms because they both remind her of homelands and her past.
