When doing my research for my Internships I came across many different types of internships.

I enjoyed theses internships.

Nickelodeon Internship Program

The Nickelodeon Animation Studio produces such hits as SpongeBob SquarePants, Sanjay and Craig, Wallykazam!, Breadwinners, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Some of the great perks to being a NICKtern are networking with studio artists and producers, having lunch with top executives, going to free movie screenings, taking practice art tests, attending intern classes and much, much more!!Starts in early June through mid to late august pays $10 hour

Who wouldn't want to work for Nickelodeon studio if i could get this internship it would be a great start for networking with other studios. They also teach you there process on making their animations and you get to work on one in studio!!![

Indie Memphis

This internship would be great for boasting up my productive and basic working habits. It encouraging good planning, and leadership skills which is great for an animator to have under their belt.

Internship Interview

How did you find your internship, what field of study was your internship and was it relevant to either your major/personal interests?

He found his internship during memphis college of art internship fair. It wasn't really relevant to his career choice but help with writing scripts and planning for animation.

How was the work conditions at your internship?

He worked through the school during his internship during which time he learned more about journalism rather than art. Although journalism helps with pitching ideas of his films and other projects he does through his major.

What were some of the issues you dealt with during your internship experience?

During the internship he felt a little disorganize not use to working under someone else lost of communication with the person over the internship.

How did your schedule change with the internship, and how did you deal with time?

The scheduling for the internship was not ideal it felt random when he was on call. They would ask him randomly before class for meeting which made his schedule random. He would also have to work on things at night because of the work load of his classes.

How has your portfolio changed based on your internship?

Because he did an internship in journalism he was able to do so motion graphic with text using after effects.

Based on this internship experience would try another in the same field?

He would rather not try another internship in the same field. He wants an internship that deals more animation based techniques and software rather then just motion graphics.

Demo Reels

Good Demo Reels

EQAL Reel 2015 from EQAL visual productions AG on Vimeo.

The EQAL demo reel has great impact right from the start of the video. I think this demo reel is a great one because of its easy to follow transitions. They use color, motion, and environments to transition to other parts of their demo reel which I think helps with both timing and pace for the viewer. They also tied the beginning and ending with each other which is always a good thing to do.

Showreel RĂ©mi Chapotot from Cube Creative on Vimeo.
I loved this demo reel because its gets right into the viewers face about what the artist is able to create. The Demo reel is well polished and shows a lot of all sides of 3d animation such as character animation, background development, and special effects.

REEL 2015 from Matt Dippenaar on Vimeo.
I love the intro to this demo reel it shows great impact in both animation and graphic design. I shows what the animator is capable of with great pacing. I love the graphic design animation he shows that he can get someone's else's label or design out there with a his own twist

Bad Demo Reels

Gnomon School 2014 Student Reel from Gnomon School of Visual Effects on Vimeo.

My Demo Reel from Jacob Lloyd on Vimeo.
I don't care for the beginning of this demo with the artist stating a simple fact however I enjoy some of his animations. I think he is showing to much of other things when the main focus should be on the animation or film.

The animation in this demo reel I feel is made well however for a demo reel I feel like the pacing is a bit off with the cuts to other things. I wish I could also have some sound with in his demo reel to go along with the animation also when we get to the video game part of the demo reel  I feel like it lasts to long.

The animation of this demo reel I feel is a little simple almost to much like regular school work. I need some individual maybe special projects to spice up the demo reel a bit. I enjoy that he shows his process however it proves that he is able to produce his animation almost like proof.
